Jonathan’s first position post-law school was with Referee Baker in Olmsted County. Referee Baker’s caseload primarily focused on issues related to family law and landlord-tenant law. His duties and responsibilities included: drafting orders, researching statutes and case law, drafting internal memorandums, and attending court hearings. As a newly minted associate, Jonathan believes in a thoughtful, informative, and collaborative approach where the parties ultimately decide the issues between themselves with limited court involvement. He also understands some issues are beyond agreement and will adjust his theory of a client’s case accordingly.
